About

James Talley earned critical acclaim starting in the 1970s for his gritty, socially conscious songwriting that blends elements of blues, folk, and classic country. His catalog focuses heavily on the lives of ordinary blue-collar workers, folk heroes, and the changing landscape of the American West. Tulsa roots music collectors and folk historians treasure his artistic output, viewing him as a vital lyrical bridge connecting historical Oklahoma struggles to modern acoustic storytelling.
